Columbia Society of Fellows in the Humanities at Columbia University grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the William R. Kenan Trust is accepting applications for post-doctoral fellows for 2006/07. Applicants must have completed the Ph.D. between January 1, 2000 and July 1, 2006. The stipend is for $52,000, one half for undergraduate teaching in the general education program and one half for independent research. An additional $3,000 is available to support research. Deadline for receipt of applications is October 3, 2005.

International Dissertation Field Research Fellowship (IDRF) — The Social Science Research Council and the American Council of Learned Societies are pleased to announce the 2006 competition, designed to support graduate students in the humanities and social sciences conducting dissertation field research in all areas and regions of the world. Fifty fellowships of approximately $20,000, provided by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, will be awarded in 2006. The application must be filled out and submitted electronically by November 10, 2005.
